While in a closet in the upstairs of my house I notice a door I haven't seen before. I've lived in my house for almost three years now so I was surprised to find the door. It wasn't a 'secret' door but it was in the back of a closet and wasn't obvious unless you went searching. When I go up the stairs through the door there is another door. As I open it I see clutter everywhere but the room is finely furnished and it is apparent that this was the attic that has been turned into a living space.
The interesting thing about the room is that it is completely full of kids' toys. There is a little table with four chairs for children to sit on and play on. There is a tricycle and lots of duplos or other smaller toys on the ground. I make my way to the room to my right and it is another room that was obviously a child's room. I walk through it quickly and see the third and final room. This was an amazing room.
The room was long and was obviously a rectangle. In the middle of the room was a plush leather couch with a very large ottoman in front of the couch. Directly in front of the couch is what I notice. It is a large flat screen TV with speakers all around it. As I get closer to the TV I realize that the TV is not as large as I first thought, but it is VERY high quality. The TV was actually only about 27" but there were speakers built into the TV that added an extra foot or two on each side. I was amazed because I had never seen this room before. To the right of that TV was a laptop. On the ground to the left of the first TV was another, wide screen plasma TV. Amazed, I turn around and look behind the couch and there I see a 24" computer monitor with a full desktop. There is one more large flat screen TV behind the couch and I am in awe. Wonderful surround sound, two computers and three hi-def TVs in a part of the house that I have never seen.
About this time I hear Tracy come in and I ask her excitedly if she knew about this portion of the house? She says she did and the previous owners had left some things. On the floor I see a guitar hero box but it is for the Playstation. I was disappointed because I own an Xbox and not a playstation. Then I notice the box has never been opened so I realize I could sell it get an Xbox version. Then I stop and think that I bet the previous owner had a Playstation and probably left it if the TVs and computers that he left were any indication of what he brought with him. Sure enough, on the floor to the left of the main TV sits a Playstation 3! How exciting. I just inherited $5,000 worth of electronics and a dedicated TV room for free!
When I turn around to go back downstairs the second room that used to be filled with childrens stuff is now a kitchen. It is not a kitchen that I recognize so I start going through the cabinets. In one cabinet I find some dishes. To the left of the sink and above the dish washer I find some left over food. I decide I should probably throw it away because I don't know how long the food has been there. Tracy is unloading the dish washer as I'm looking through the cabinets. She has been up here recently enough to have done the dishes. I look down at the floor and notice for the first time that there are beautiful hard wood floors through the 1st room and the kitchen. Amazing.
I feel a sense of ownership in this area. This is the type of room that I've always wanted. A room that I can reside in and enjoy full sound and all the electronics I want. Tracy seems unaffected by the whole scenario but I'm in a state of uphoria. I feel as if this is a dream, too good to be true.

I wonder if this dream is connected to your wishes to work at home. And it could go either way - the wish to work at home showing up in the dream or the dream representing the wish that is expressed in your consciousness as working at home.
A few years ago I started having lots of dreams about earth and buffalo, etc. I eventually began to realize it was about my nature and have somewhat come to terms with my need to put down roots and be free "in the earth" as even my name implies. Perhaps in a similar way, your impulse to work at home and your dream represent similar identity longings - keys to being more fully yourself. My buffalo interpretations left me realizing that to feel free I needed to not be "fenced in" so to speak, by corporations or bosses. Perhaps your drive for freedom is not so much about who is "boss" but are you "at home" in your domain while doing it?
