When I hear the word blog, I can only think of one thing. Mark Cuban. This seems appropriate since I, in someway, relate to him. He's successful, exuberant and has a lot "going for him". Yet, when you experience him, whether in dancing with the stars or in a random interview with local media you inherently say to yourself, "something's off about him."
A site where you post your ramblings as if anybody out there will truly give a shit about what you have to say/think. It's like a journal...but not. In a journal I would write something and knowingly keep it a secret. In a blog, I will write something and unknowingly keep it a secret.
I spent this morning reading through S.P. Lunger's blog which you can find here: S.P. Lunger and I couldn't help but wonder. Is his life better than mine? As I read through the first parts of the blog I had changing emotions. The first emotion was around amazement. I read a deepness that I don't know that I possess. But then it turned into something else. Something..cynical perhaps. Thats one of his favorite adjectives.
My life is less discovered than his. No doubts about that. See Tel'aran'rhiod
But what does that gain him? If I wouldn't have been an S.P. Lunger student for 24 years I wouldn't have known that I was somehow behind the curve so to speak. His life is filled with cynical ramblings that allow him to "project his shit" more profusely than I do.
How many times can you blog? Is it a no more than once a day thing? No more than twice a week? I feel like inundating the blog with entries right now. If I'm the only one that's going to read my diary online I guess I can blog as much as I want.
In proper Schlueter fashion this blog, that nobody will read, will be a key to self discovery. Each new day has a new solution. Maybe ignorance is bliss. Or maybe fuck ignorance.

Schlueter on Lunger: His life is filled with cynical ramblings that allow him to "project his shit" more profusely than I do.
and: But then it turned into something else. Something..cynical perhaps. Thats one of his favorite adjectives.
Cynic: a person who believes that only selfishness motivates human actions and who disbelieves in or minimizes selfless acts or disinterested points of view.
Cynical: cynical
adjective
believing the worst of human nature and motives; having a sneering disbelief in e.g. selflessness of others
Lunger: I'm thrilled to see you dedicating your blog to the pursuit of self-knowledge and growth, but most fascinated both by your assessment of my voice and what appears to be a mission statement to escape my voice.
After discovering that cynical is my favorite adjective, I looked it and its root up. The primary definition of cynic sounds to me a lot like statements to the effect of "there's no such thing as altruism." Statments that I have consistently questioned as I heard them come out of your mouth. Additionally, the adjective, cynical suggests a negative and bleak outlook on human nature.
It's surprising to me that you assess me both as highly cynical and as more prone to project on others. I haven't done a search but believe that if you extracted every time I use the word cynic or cynical the large majority would appear in my first post, a post which was framed as representing a past or bygone time period. Secondly, while I critique a variety of thoughts and ideas, including my own, I believe the astute reader would notice a strong vote FOR human nature and a loud indictment of those systems or individuals who would seek to suppress it. This is hardly a cynical position.
On this level, I must question if I'm actually more adept at cynicism?

Well, you assess your first post as a bygone period. Perhaps my view of you, both consciously and subconsciously, is still stuck in what you would consider your bygone world view. It is obvious that I also related to that post the most, being that I likely projected it back on you! What sort of empathist would be if i didn't project it back on you!
Thought provoking commentary as usual.
The main purpose of my blog is, as you stated, self-knowledge. I've decided to write whatever I'm feeling. No guarding. That is my goal. But my last paragraph was also a jab at myself. "each new day has a new solution", aka, never going to the source. I'm sure, as has been the case in the past, i will be a master of "empathy" and BS.
Already i find the process to be important. We'll see where it ends up i guess.
